Preet calls on reform to the use of farrowing crates on farms

We are a nation of animal lovers and all animals deserve to live in the highest quality and most humane conditions. Animals should not suffer unnecessary pain and degradation and we must drive up standards and practices in line with the most recent advances and understanding.

Sadly, though, farms across the country continue to trap pigs in farrowing crates so small they cannot even turn around.

Preet says it is time for action.

Therefore, she has written to the DEFRA Secretary asking that he updates Preet and Edgbaston constituents as to the Government’s position in respect of the continued use of farrowing crates on British farms.
