This bank holiday weekend marks a special date for our country. As we celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, our country has so much to be proud of and the 70 years of service which her majesty the Queen has given is certainly part of our nation’s pride.
The Queen’s Jubilee is a chance for us all to celebrate the incredible reign of Her Majesty. Her sense of duty, her commitment to her people and her sheer decency have enhanced our country. Britain is a very different place to when she became Queen – and yet through the highs and the lows and the changes, she has remained a constant. Just as when she became Queen, Britain is at a crossroads. We are carving out a new place in the world. It is important that the values she represents guide us into that new era.
Over this bank holiday, I will be celebrating with my friends and family as well as joining with you and many residents at local celebrations that will be happening across our constituency. I remember when I must also remind any in need of my support that my usual advice surgery on Friday will be cancelled due to the bank holiday and my office will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday 1st June and usual service will resume Monday 6th June where you can contact me by email at preet.gill.mp@parliament.uk or call me 0121 392 8426. My Edgbaston ward surgery will also be running at the Community Centre, B15 2HU from 10.30-11.30am.
Wishing you a wonderful bank holiday and Jubilee celebration,
Preet Kaur Gill MP
