Preet Kaur Gill MP for Birmingham Edgbaston is calling on Woodgate and Bartley Green residents to share how they think the £20 million Pride in Place investment should be spent.
After years of campaigning Preet Kaur Gill has secured £20 million for Woodgate and Bartley Green as part of the Pride in Place programme. The funding is allocated as £20 million spread out across ten years.
Woodgate and Bartley Green have long faced challenges with limited opportunities for young people, pressure on community facilities, and a lack of support for growth. This investment aims to reverse years of underfunding by restoring services, creating opportunities, and rebuilding pride in local neighbourhoods.
Residents are being encouraged to share their thoughts on how the money should be used. It could be for more youth services, a community hub, improved outdoor spaces or more support for skills and employment. All ideas are welcome and will inform the plans for how the funding will be spent with the goal to benefit as many residents as possible.
As part of the project, a local board will be formed to make decisions on the funding and help shape priorities. Constituents are being encouraged to feedback if they would like to get involved in the board or join a sub-group.
Preet Kaur Gill MP said: “This is a major win for our community. This funding will truly make a difference, and I want to hear your thoughts on how it will help.
I know first-hand how much services have been cut due to a lack of community focus. The investment in Woodgate and Bartley Green puts the community at the heart of decision-making, giving you a real say in your area.
