As a passenger, and knowing how important reliable rail is to constituents and the country, Preet wrote to the Transport Secretary to voice her concerns that, after years of decline, Avanti planned to cut hundreds more services.
In her letter, Preet explained how 'despite having the most customer complaints of any operator and being consistently being rated one of the worst performing operators on the rail network, ministers spent an eye-watering £4m of taxpayers’ money on bonuses to Avanti executives for “customer experience” and “acting as a good operator”.'
