After the family of Harry Armstrong Evans wrote to Preet about their son's tragic suicide while he was studying at Exeter University, Preet wrote to universities in Edgbaston about student mental health and wellbeing.

While enrolling and heading to university can be an exciting time of new opportunities, it can also be a challenging time. It is therefore critical that students are properly supported while at university.

The data shows Higher Education providers have work to do to ensure first-year students are promptly and properly supported through health and well-being support.

Preet therefore asked whether Edgbaston universities would voluntarily publish an annual report that provides an assessment of the quality of health and wellbeing support services on offer as well as publishing annually the suicide rate among enrolled students, and what more we can do to bring about change.

See Preet's letter below.
