The financial situation at the Council is obviously critical but news that libraries in Bartley Green, Harborne, and Quinton are earmarked for closure is deeply concerning.

These libraries provide vital community spaces not only for their traditional functions of reading, learning and communication but also as a base for socialising and wider community activities.

Therefore, Preet has contacted the Cabinet Member for Digital, Culture, Heritage and Tourism - Councillor Saima Suleman - seeking a meeting to discuss Preet's plan to save these libraries. Preet will also use this meeting to discuss other cuts that fall within Saima's remit.
