10 November 2023: Preet seeks answers over ratification of the Global Ocean Treaty

Responding to constituents' concerns over the Government kicking the can down the road and delaying ratifying the Global Ocean Treaty, Preet wrote to the DEFRA Secretary in November.

In her letter, Preet explained how 'The Global Oceans Treaty is a glaring opportunity for the UK to join with countries around the world to conserve biodiversity, protect our oceans, and to meet the global target agreed last year to protect 30 percent of the planet’s land and sea, known as ‘30 by 30’, through a network of MPAs and other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures (OECMs).'
