Research Officer 

Location: London

Salary: In line with IPSA Pay scales

Length of Contract: 12 months with a view to extend​

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse, evaluate and interpret data,  to ensure Preet is accurately informed on key issues, policy responses.

  • Assist in writing external communications,  including speeches for the MP

  • Attend and participate in meetings as appropriate

  • Prepare Comms for Government business in the Chamber

  • Compilation of briefing packs for MPs, take notes of meetings and draft appropriate submissions

  • Develop and maintain current knowledge on relevant areas of parliamentary business, including petitions, legislation, Hansard, debates etc. This would include issues of importance both nationally and in the local constituency.

  • Diary Management. Efficient data and file management to ensure the office complies with the data protection legislation

  • Engage confidentially, professionally, with care and integrity with members of the public, through telephone enquiries, social media, email and face to face

  • Exposure and management of complex cases

  • Spend two days per week working on Bespoke policy issues

  • Have working knowledge of relevant legislation and upcoming business, including how they impact on the constituency

  • Help draft amendments for reports and prepare briefing material

  • Maintain positive on-going relationships with all parties,  including members of the public, groups, suppliers and Westminster where required

  • Monitor local, regional and national media coverage and brief the MP on relevant issues

  • Monitor social media activity and report any relevant trends to the Office Manager/MP

  • Prepare and present briefing notes for committees, press releases, parliamentary questions

  • Progress casework as required

  • Provide generalist admin support

 

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO).

Campaigns Officer 

Location: Birmingham Edgbaston

Salary: In line with IPSA Pay scales

Length of Contract: 12 months with a view to extend

Job Details

This is a forward-facing role, three days a week Wednesday to Friday. Based out in the constituency, engaging with stakeholders, and residents to develop and support on local campaigns. Use of a car is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a campaigns plan across the constituency

  • Plan and deliver campaigns across digital, print, media, and community channels

  • Create and coordinate content such as briefings, social media posts, email communications, press materials, and campaign toolkits

  • Work with internal teams including communications, policy, fundraising, and external affairs to align campaign activity

  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as partners, agencies, community groups, and media contacts

  • Monitor campaign performance using analytics, feedback, and reporting tools

  • Manage campaign schedules and ensure milestones, approvals, and deadlines are met

  • Maintain campaign resources including contact lists, content calendars, and project documents

  • Assist with events and public engagement activity linked to campaign goals

  • Track sector trends and audience insights to inform future campaigns
